Day 3 Update from Close Up: Today we woke up in Alexandria, Virginia, and headed straight into Washington, DC. Our first stop was a picture stop at the US Supreme aCourt. Next, we got to participate in a tour of the Capitol building. We then took the walking tunnel over to the Library of Congress where we got to see the Reading Room, an exhibit on George Washington v. King George, an original Gutenburg Bible and what is left of Jefferson's Library. After lunch we went to the Jefferson Memorial, Fords Theatre (where Lincoln was shot) and then stood outside the boarding house where he died. We then got to tour the Natural History Smithsonian Museum and the American History Smithsonian Museum. After dinner we stopped at the MLK Jr. Memorial and the FDR Memorial.

Day 2 Update from the Close Up Trip: We had an eventful day today starting at Liberty Hall where we got to see the rooms where both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were signed. We then saw the house where Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence. We got to see the First Federal Bank, the first President's House, Benjamin Franklin's grave and the National Constitution Center. We also got to eat lunch at the Reading Terminal (RR spot in Monopoly), now Reading Market. We finished the day at Camden Park to watch the Orioles defeat the Red Sox!

Day 1 from the 8th Grade Close Up Trip Update from Mrs Herrington: 8th grade social studies students started their 5 day Philadelphia and Washington DC trip early this morning. Upon arriving in Philadelphia they got to walk down the oldest continuously resided on residential street. All of the houses were 300 years or older. You can buy your own for 1.6 million (some are only 8.5 feet wide, but 3 stories tall). They then got to see the Betsy Ross House, the Christ Church, the Quaker Meeting House built in 1804, and Hamiltons first Federal Bank. We then finished the day with Philly Cheesteaks and a Ghost Tour.

Summer Food Program Details
We will continue to closely monitor the air quality throughout the day. Thanks to Mrs. Belinda and our green team we are so fortunate to have 2 air quality monitors right here on Red Lodge High School's Campus as well as one down at Roosevelt Middle School.

Currently we are still planning on having our home track meet today with field events starting at 3:00 pm and Track starting at 4:00 pm.

Every year Mrs. Lauritzen's high school art classes enter the Reach Higher Montana sticker contest for a chance for the students to win scholarships.

They have narrowed it down to the top 20 sticker designs and this year Red Lodge junior is Riley B is finalist.

Just a reminder.... 🚨 Training Exercise at Red Lodge High School 🚨 The Carbon County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with Red Lodge Police Department and Red Lodge Fire & Rescue, will be hosting an “It’s Your Choice: Teens Against Distracted Driving” presentation and mock crash scenario at Red Lodge High School. Date: April 8 Time: Approximately 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM During this time, there will be a visible presence of law enforcement, fire, EMS, and emergency vehicles on and around the school grounds. ⚠️ Please do not be alarmed. This is a planned training and educational event focused on raising awareness about the dangers of distracted and impaired driving among teens.
