INDUSTRIAL ARTS (13003) – Elective, Practical Art (CTE); Open to grades 9 - 12
Prerequisite: None
Required Materials: Safety Glasses; Materials for the student projectIndustrial Arts is a course designed to expose students to a variety of topics which will include: introduction to tools, shop safety, and designing and building a wood project.

CONSTRUCTION TRADES (17003) – Elective, Practical Art (CTE), Open to grades 9 - 12
Prerequisite: NoneThis course is designed to expose students to a variety of topics which will include: Drafting, project design, measuring, material list, floor layout, wall layout, rafter layout, sheeting, trim and roofing. Students will construct a building using the skills learned throughout the course. Students will also have the opportunity to job shadow construction workers in our community.

Welding (13207) – Elective, Practical Art (CTE); Open to grades 9 – 12
Prerequisite: None
Required Materials: Safety Glasses, Welding Goggles, Leather Shoes, Welding Gloves, Coveralls or equivalentWelding will include the following activities: Safety; SMAW Welding; Oxy-Acetylene Welding; Oxy-Fuel; Cutting Plasma Cutting; Student Generated Projects. Instructional unit includes skill objectives, activities for students, visual aids, and tests. Units are planned for more than one lesson or class period of instruction. Each student shall perform various tasks. These tasks will enable the student to successfully perform at an entry-level position in the job market.

Metal Art (13207) – Elective, Practical Art (CTE); Open to grades 9 – 12
Prerequisite: Art I
Required Materials: Safety Glasses, Welding Goggles, Leather Shoes, Welding Gloves, Coveralls or equivalentStudents will be exposed to general welding shop safety as well as basic welding techniques. It is the student’s responsibility to generate his or her own projects. Projects may include, but not limited to, kinetic sculptures, silhouettes, flowers, animals, cars/trucks and abstract items.

Advanced Welding (13207) – Elective, Practical Art (CTE); Open to grades 10 – 12
Prerequisite: Welding
Required Materials: Safety Glasses, Welding Goggles, Leather Shoes, Welding Gloves, Coveralls or equivalentStudents enrolled in Advanced welding will explore a variety of activities that include the following: Safety; SMAW Welding; OFC; CNC Plasma Cutting; GMAW Welding; GTAW Welding; Student Generated Projects. Each student shall perform various tasks. These tasks will enable the student to successfully perform at an entry-level position in the job market.
